n00b portfolio?

Photos: Yay! Portfolio!
I turned it in yesterday. I slightly modified and reordered a few pictures before doing so.

To the above picture: Whee! Old old outdated beat up badly assembled print of To Touch the Sky! Two magnets with my pictures and info on them! 12 business cards. I had 4 designs because I couldn't decide which one to use.

Bad photo. Screw you macro mode.

My favorite. It's actually a lot darker 'cause it's printed on cardstock.

The one Daryl chose. My second fave, from the same picture. (I'm starting to think it was a major fluke...o_o;)

What a happy spread. I liked this, but I had to alter its order. (I had to fill every page in my portfolio, so I finished two extra pics. Which I need to post at some point - or maybe I'll save them for the site.)

Hey, it's To Touch the Sky in a fuller size! I had to fix something in page 4 (left side).

My leavebehind page, which was kind of awkward with the overlapping image. I should have changed that. But anyway, I had two magnets, as well as the old TTTS printout, so.

Apparently my presentation was "shaky at first", but then I warmed up to it. I'm like that - but I'm still losing all my talking skills from Cutco. I just need to do this more regularly and I'll get better. Luckily the department chair really likes my body of work, and Daryl thinks my childrens style (the pic of the girl with the gryphon) is very marketable. And the resident children's book enthusiast Amanda really liked it too. Made my heart mushy!

Anyway, this:

My Typography II final, cut construction paper and drawn (prisma marker and really runny pen). This was fun to make, as I threw all attempts at precision to the wind to achieve this effect. I'm glad I can still see wonder and childlikeness in things. Simplicity and fun.
Anyway, when presenting this, Dave said "You sound proud of it." Which really surprised me, because after seeing some of the other posters, I felt like mine was crap. 0_0 I felt it was a little less, because I draw every day, and cut paper in this form is not that hard. But I did present THIS well. And that's good, because when you love your work, others do. And well, I don't dislike this.

So yes, semester OVER! HOLY CRAP.
I hope my motivation doesn't die now without something to regulate my days, as it has happened. I need a job...serious.
