A stop at the local used CD store, combined with my new copy of Bjork's Vespertine, somehow created the urge for me to finally get started on my tattoo design idea. Originally it was just going to be a dragon-winged cross, but the sunflower adds something missing. This is obviously very rough and incomplete, but a start. I think I should make a thinner and more stylish cross, however, then do some fun things with the sunflower's stem. The dragon's wings will be folded into themselves slightly (and I think I need to start over - ahh, I want all the joints). I'd actually like for them to be red (fire yo), but er, no color, no. Maybe bits of it.
I hope to someday sport this on my back, covering most of it in white or silver ink since black will blend in a bit too ordinarily on my skin. I even considered using shading by pointilism for realism's sake. However, I keep realizing that the more detail I put into this, the more that will be etched into my back, and the longer I will complain to both friends and strangers of pain and loss of sleep.
If I wuss out, I'll at least get it printed on a shirt. A classmate of mine's father owns a shirt print shop. <3
Anyway, I decided to post small images from my last Production Design project since it's the best thing I've done all year. ~_~ Of course, this is partially due to Apple's current iPod nano ad campaign, but I'd totally do this for some high-end magazine with their permission.
A couple of those nano pictures are really terrible photos of my Mini made to look slightly like nanos. For some reason, there wasn't any straight-on picture of a nano on any of the stock image sites I frequent.
I had fun with this. Hooray grids! Hooray silhouettes. Psst, pretend the bleed isn't there.
In other news, the Flash went over well, but I don't want to look at it again for a month. Although there are small but influential changes I want to make soon, thanks to Daryl.<3
The final is now, and we get a month to create a portfolio website. So, look forward to my all-Flash portfolio site December.
